Nina Simone To Be Inducted Into Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame

The 2018 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees were announced on Wednesday (Dec. 13) morning. Thankfully, music icon Nina Simone was one of them!

During her time on Earth; Simone was a famed singer, songwriter and pianist. She was also a strong civil rights activist until the day she passed in 2003. One of her most popular and inspirational songs was "Four Women," which depicts the lives of four different black women living from times of slavery through the present.

Simone's music shaped not only the industry, but society as a whole. That's why she more than deserves this Hall of Fame honor. She's been eligible for induction since 1986, but was only nominated until this year. This was long overdue.

The icon is joined by other music greats such as Bon Jovi, Dire Straits, The Cars, and The Moody Blues. Unfortunately, artists like LL Cool J didn't make the cut...this time. Here's to next year!

The 2018 Rock and Rock Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place at the Public Auditorium in Cleveland, Ohio on April 14, 2018. See you there.
