City Girls' Yung Miami Attempts To Clarify Her Homophobic Comments

Yung Miami of City Girls is on the rise, in part courtesy of Drake's "In My Feelings," but the rapper is learning the hard way about what she puts on the Twittersphere.

Back in 2013, the rapper admitted that she would beat her son if she found out that he was gay. Since then, the tweet has resurfaced and she has apologized in a note on Instagram. However, the rising MC doubled down on the controversial remarks during her recent appearance on Power 105.1's "The Breakfast Club," where she admitted that she didn't understand the severity of the comments.

“I just said that if I saw anything gay in my son that I would beat him," she told Charlamagne tha God and DJ Envy. "But that's just like, your momma be like, 'If you break my table, I'm gonna beat the sh*t outta you.' That don't mean she's gonna beat the sh*t outta you, she's just sayin'. I don't have nothing against gay people, but I wouldn't want my son to be gay."

"Just being a mother, I wouldn't want my son dating the same sex, but I'm around gay people all the time," she continued. "My stylist is gay, my cousin gay, I love gay people. My favorite cousin that died was gay. That don't mean that I have nothing against gay people 'cause I don't want my son to be gay."
