TALLAHASSEE -- What would Jimmy Buffett say about A1A?
A state representative from the Gainesville area wants to designate the state road that hugs Florida's east coast beaches in honor of the singer and musician who died September 1st at age 76.
Newberry Republican Chuck Clemons has filed a bill for next year's session that would designate the road with segments from Monroe County to Nassau County as the "Jimmy Buffett Memorial Highway."
Buffett's music featured an island vibe focused on the Keys.
A1A covers many of Florida's beaches in segments but doesn't go all the way to Key West, Buffett's musical base.
