Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are taking us back in time in their new ad for their latest Fenty collaboration.

On Wednesday, February 28, the superstar couple debuted their new short film Born to Steal: Yours, Mine, Ours on Fenty Beauty's YouTube. In the black-and-white production inspired by classic Hollywood noir, a narrator tells the tale of a "classy dame" played by Rihanna who aims to swipe clothes and other things from her man, a.k.a. Rocky. The mischievous temptress continues to steal covers and food from Rocky, but he won't let her jack his Lux Balm Ultra-Hydrating Cherry Lip Balm.

The vintage ad comes a few weeks after the couple launched their new lip balm. Rihanna and A$AP Rocky's brand-new Barbados Cherry-powered lip balm "brings dry, chapped lips back to life with instant hydration." They've been promoting the product since Rocky first teased their collaboration in his single “Riot (Rowdy Pipe’n)” last summer. On the song, the Harlem native raps "Nah, b***h, this ain't lip gloss/Lux Balm up in my palm/New collab' with my baby mom."

Upon the short film's release, some fans expressed their disappointment that the visuals didn't lead to new music. Rihanna made her comeback in 2022 with her recent singles "Lift Me Up" and "Born Again" for the Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever soundtrack. Since then, fans have been hanging on every word she says to find clues about her long-awaited follow-up to her 2016 album ANTI.

“I want it to be this year,” Rihanna told Vogue last year. “Like, honestly, it’d be ridiculous if it’s not this year. But I just want to have fun. I just want to make music and make videos.”

Rihanna has yet to confirm a release date for her next album.
