Rays Rally Past Blue Jays For Fourth Straight Win

The Tampa Bay Rays (25-22) defeated the Toronto Blue Jays (19-25) 5-4 on Saturday afternoon in Toronto. The Rays have now won four straight games and clinched a win in their three-game series against the Blue Jays.

Toronto took a 4-0 lead with a run in the fourth and a three-run fifth. Tampa Bay got three runs in the sixth when Amed Rosario drove in two and Jose Caballero had a RBI hit to pull within 4-3. Then in the eighth it was Jonny DeLuca hitting a two-run bomb that lifted the Rays to a 5-4 comeback win.

Zach Eflin got the start and allowed four earned runs on nine hits in six innings of work while striking out three and walking none. Erasmo Ramirez (3-0, 4.50) got the win out of the bullpen after pitching a scoreless seventh inning. Jason Adam then worked a scoreless eighth and Garrett Cleavinger a scoreless ninth to pick up his third save of the year.

The Rays now look to sweep the three-game series with the Blue Jays on Sunday afternoon. Aaron Civale (2-3, 5.83) will get the start for the Rays and face Alex Manoah (0-1, 4.91) for Toronto.
