Rays Drop Series To Yankees, Make Several Trades

The New York Yankees (60-49) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (54-56) 7-4 on Thursday afternoon in the Bronx. With the win, the Yankees won the four game series 3-1, and have handed Tampa Bay three straight losses.

It was a newsworthy day for the Rays, who announced three significant trades. Jose Caballero was traded to the New York Yankees for Everson Pereira and a player to be named later. They then traded infielder Curtis Mead to the White Sox for Adrian Houser. They also added Twins reliever Griffin Jax for Rays starting pitcher Taj Bradley.

The Rays will return home for a three-game series against the Dodgers beginning on Friday night. First pitch Friday is scheduled for 7:35 PM - pregame coverage begins with the Inside Pitch at 6:30 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
