The Florida House and Senate pass the Save Our Homes Amendment in a Special Legislative Session. If at least 60% of voters agree in November, the constitutional amendment would ultimately eliminate property taxes for about 60 percent of current homestead property owners.
Democrats say the plan could devastate local governments.
Republicans have said that all these local governments would have to do is go back to 2019 spending.
