Rays Beat Royals For Sixth Straight Win

The Tampa Bay Rays (49-33) defeated the Kansas City Royals (35-51) 10-4 on Tuesday night in Kansas City to win their sixth straight game.

The Rays fell behind early when Carter Jensen hit a home run on the first pitch of the bottom of the first inning to give Kansas City a 1-0 lead. The Rays answered with six runs in the third inning to take the lead, before adding two in the fifth and two in the sixth to turn the game into a blowout.

Junior Caminero has now hit eight home runs in the last seven games, including a three-run home run in the third inning that broke a 1-1 tie at the time. Griffin Jax (4-5, 3.45) got the win, allowing three earned runs on five hits in six innings of work in which he struck out five and walked none.

The Rays will look to make it seven in a row when they meet the Royals in the middle game of their three-game series on Wednesday night.
