Drake Drops The Trailer To His New Movie

Drake is an executive producer for the upcoming thriller Amsterdam!

Set to hit theaters on November 4, Amsterdam is a star-studded, with Chris Rock, Christian Bale, Robert De Niro, Margot Robbie, Zoe Saldana and John David Washington.

“A lot of this actually happened. Amsterdam, a new film from David O. Russell,” Drake wrote on Instagram while sharing the movie’s trailer on Thursday. “Arrives in theaters November 2022. Executive produced by myself and @futuretheprince @dreamcrew.”

Directed by David O. Russell, Amsterdam takes place in the 1930s, as Bale, JDW and Robbie play a doctor, an attorney, and a nurse. They are pinned as the murderers of a white man after discovering a dead person in a box.

Drake also executive produced HBO’s Euphoria, Netflix’s Top Boy and the 2017 Vince Carter documentary The Carter Effect.

At their Toronto show on Saturday, Drake joined the group for a duet of “I Want It That Way,” after introducing him as the "sixth member" of their group. Drake then gave a speech about what the song means to him.

“At 13 years old, I had a bar mitzvah … and at my bar mitzvah, for the first time in my life, this girl I was in love with came up to me while one of the greatest songs in the world was playing, and she asked me if I would dance with her,” he said. “It was the first time I ever felt acknowledged, and it was the first time I ever felt like I had a shot at being cool.”

When, they sung the duet, Drake included parts of his song “Hold On, We’re Going Home” in the rendition.

Drake and 21 Savage’s “Jimmy Cooks” has gone straight to No. 1!

“Jimmy Cooks” racked up 42.2 million streams, and 6,000 downloads sold in its first week, marking Drake’s 11th No. 1 single on the chart and second after “Wait for U” with Future and Tems this year. The song is 21 Savage’s second No. 1 single following “Rockstar” with Post Malone in 2017.

“11 11 that stat line is gods work,” Drake wrote, “Blessings.”

Drake is now tied with Whitney Houston for the seventh-most No. 1 singles of all time with 11, as just The Beatles, Mariah Carey, Rihanna, Michael Jackson, Madonna and The Supremes are ahead of him.

Drake’s Honestly, Nevermind will debut on top of the Billboard 200.

The debut makes Drake the fifth act with more than 10 No. 1 albums, trailing The Beatles with 19, JAY-Z with 14, Bruce Springsteen with 11, and Barbra Streisand with 11.

The album has the fourth-largest streaming week for an album in 2022, and the highest-streamed single on the album is “Jimmy Cooks,” featuring 21 Savage.

Drake launched his new album with the video for the single “Falling Back.”

The video shows the wedding of Drake with multiple women and includes appearances from Tristian Thompson and Drake’s mom, Sandi Graham.
