LIL WAYNE, KODAK BLACK: Details on Presidential Pardons

Snoop Dogg got his wish when Death Row co-founder Michael “Harry-O” Harris was released after serving 30 years of a 25-to-life sentence.

We’re learning new details about the pardons and commutations Donald Trump made on his way out of the White House, including Lil Wayne,Kodak Black and two record execs.

Pardons for Wayne and Kodak apparently came about due to lobbying by “law ronin”Bradford Cohen. He argued that Weezy was unfairly charged, especially considering he’s a non-violent felon with only one prior conviction, which he has already served time for. It probably didn’t hurt that Wayne posed for a picture with Trump last year and co-signed his “Platinum Plan.” And Cohen was able to speak to the charitable acts Kodak has continued to fund while behind bars.

Overlooked in the list of Donald Trump’snearly 150 last-minute pardons and commutations was the name Desiree Perez, the CEO Roc Nation. Perez was arrested in 1994 for drug possession and in ’98 for grand larceny and possession of a firearm. The White House said that the music exec was “involved in a conspiracy to distribute narcotics” and notes that she “has taken full accountability for her actions and has turned her life around,” pointing out that she has been an advocate for criminal justice reform in her community.
