COVID VACCINES: Half of the Adults in the U.S. Have Received One Shot

The U.S. has hit a major milestone in the country's COVID-19 vaccination campaign.

TeeRoy's 2 Cents:

  • It's not all good news. The global death toll from COVID surpassed 3 million over the weekend, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.
  • In the U.S. the rate of new cases continues to be high, with about 68,000 new infections every day.
  • Hopefully, the trend of folks getting vaccinated and the number of infections will go down.

The U.S. has hit a major milestone in the country's COVID-19 vaccination campaign – half of American adults have now gotten at least one shot, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The CDC says more than 129 million people 18 and older have been administered at least one vaccination. That's 50.4-percent of the adult population.

Additionally, more than 83 million adults – or 32.5-percent of the adult population – are now fully vaccinated with one of the three shots that have been approved for use in America. (CNBC)
