Grammys move to New York

TSR STAFF: Jade Ashley @Jade_Ashley94 on Instagram & Twitter _____________________________________ Many celebrities have made their way to Los Angeles to attend the #GrammyAwards for the past few years, but the award show will return to New York City in 2018. _____________________________________ According to Billboard, the Recording Academy officially announced on Tuesday that music’s biggest night will return to the Big Apple for the first time since 2003. In the past, the show was rotated between New York City and Los Angeles during the 1970’s, 1980’s and 1990’s. _____________________________________ Next year’s award show will mark the 60th anniversary, and it will take place on January 28th, 2018 at Madison Square Garden and air on CBS. _____________________________________ #NeilPortnow, the president of the Recording Academy said, “With the East Coast being the home for half the membership of the Academy -- certainly there's a very vibrant, vital part of the music industry on the East Coast and in New York -- and given that this is an anniversary year for us, it's a special chance to celebrate.” _____________________________________ #SpikeLee, #QTip, #NileRodgers, #Maxwell, #GrandmasterFlash and other musical greats can be seen—read more at TheShadeRoom.com
